A two day intensive throwing course with Will Keating for intermediate potters who want to take their pottery skills to the next level.
Over the course of the weekend you will focus on centring larger weights, lifting clay efficiently, reducing trimming, bellying out, collaring in, lidded vessels and general trouble shooting.
Having trained under Korean potter Jun Rhee, Will studied Ceramics at Clay College, Stoke-on-Trent from 2022-2024, thanks to a scholarship from the Queen Elizabeth Scholars Trust. Following his graduation, Will worked under potter Matt Hallyburton in North Carolina, studying local geology and traditional Catawba Valley techniques of wood-fired, ash glazed stoneware.
Times will be 10am-4pm on both Saturday and Sunday with a 45-minute break for lunch each day, which we will provide.
