In this relaxed workshop, you will discover the slab-building technique.
Slab building in pottery is a hand-building technique where clay is rolled into flat, even sheets (slabs) Traditionnaly these slabs then cut, shaped, and assembled to create 3D forms like boxes, tiles, or vessels, offering a way to make precise geometric shapes or textured surfaces not easily achieved on a wheel. However, in this workshop we take a playful approach to slab-building and will be folding, moulding and shaping our snack boards.
You will be guided step-by-step through the construction, decoration and how to finish your board. You will get to create your own form after having watched the teacher demonstrate the process to you.

Good to know:
-short nails are much easier to work with but long pretty nails are not impossible to work around!
-Jewellery off!
-don’t come in your Sunday best, when we play with clay we get mucky!
