Children's Pottery Course | 6 Weeks | Various Start Dates

This course is suitable for children aged 10 years - 16 years and teaches the basics and fundamentals of learning on the pottery wheel and some hand building techniques.

This fun and engaging class teaches young potters how to shape, mould, and create beautiful pottery using a real pottery wheel. Guided by a friendly teacher, children will learn the basics of wheel throwing—from centering clay to forming bowls, cups, and other creative shapes.

Each session includes hands-on instruction, creative freedom, and plenty of encouragement. Your child will gain confidence, improve motor skills, and take home unique, glazed ceramic pieces they’ll be proud to display!

Learning pottery on the wheel requires patience and perseverance. Learners need to follow instructions closely in order to be sucessful :)

What's included:

We will provide all materials throughout the course. All of our students use our studio white or buff stoneware clay, and have access to a full range of tools and glazes.
The glazing and firing of up to 6 pieces (extra pots are charged at £5 per small pot and £10 for bigger pots).

Good to know:

-Please bring your own apron and tea towel or small cloth to each lesson.
-Short nails are much easier to work with as long nails can make it challenging to handle clay.
-Jewellery and watches off!
-Don’t come in your Sunday best, working with clay can be vey messy!

All classes are refundable up until 28 days prior to the start of the course. After this we may be able to reschedule your course. PLEASE NOTE: From 14 days prior, your course is non-refundable. We are a small pottery studio and our courses run at capacity. Teachers and materials are organised in advance for the number of booked participants.
